BROW LIFT
BROW LIFT
Descended brows, deep forehead lines, and a heavy or furrowed expression are among the most ageing features of the upper face — and among the most effectively addressed by surgery. A brow lift elevates the brow to a more youthful position, smooths horizontal forehead lines, and reduces the appearance of deep frown lines between the brows, creating a refreshed, more open, and rested appearance. Turkey is home to highly skilled surgeons offering the full range of modern brow lift techniques, from endoscopic approaches to direct and hairline lifts.
Brow lift surgery in Turkey is performed using advanced techniques that prioritise natural-looking, long-lasting results and minimal visible scarring. Istanbul's surgeons are experienced in the endoscopic brow lift — currently the most widely performed approach — which uses small incisions in the hairline and specialised instruments to elevate the brow without a long coronal scar. International patients frequently combine a brow lift with facelift, blepharoplasty, or temporal lift during a single visit.
WHAT IS BROW LIFT? A brow lift (forehead lift) is a surgical procedure that elevates the brow to a more youthful position by releasing and repositioning the underlying tissues of the forehead. The most common modern approach is the endoscopic brow lift, performed through three to five small incisions in the hairline using a thin camera and specialised instruments. This approach preserves the hairline and leaves minimal scarring. Alternative approaches — including the pretrichial (hairline) lift for patients with a high forehead, or the direct brow lift for those with very heavy brows — are selected based on individual anatomy. The procedure takes 1–2 hours under general anaesthesia, and recovery involves 10–14 days of swelling and temporary scalp numbness.
AM I THE RIGHT CANDIDATE?
• You have brows that sit below the orbital rim, creating a heavy, tired, or angry expression.
• You have significant horizontal forehead lines or deep glabellar (frown) lines that are no longer adequately addressed by injectables.
• You have a forehead that contributes to a prematurely aged appearance of the upper face.
• You are in good general health with realistic expectations for a natural, rejuvenated outcome.
BENEFITS OF BROW LIFT
• Elevated brow position: Restores the brow to a youthful position above the orbital rim, opening the eye and refreshing the upper face.
• Smoother forehead: Reduces horizontal lines and deep furrows for a more relaxed, approachable expression.
• Long-lasting improvement: Surgical brow lifting produces durable results lasting 7–10 years.
• Comprehensive upper-face rejuvenation: Particularly effective when combined with blepharoplasty for a fully refreshed periorbital appearance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes Turkey a preferred destination for brow lift surgery?
Turkish surgeons are experienced in the full range of brow lifting techniques and frequently combine them with facelift and blepharoplasty to deliver comprehensive results in a single surgical visit. What is the difference between an endoscopic and a coronal brow lift?
The endoscopic approach uses small hidden incisions and a camera to elevate the brow without a long incision. The coronal approach uses a longer incision across the top of the scalp and is now less commonly performed. Will the hairline change?
With the endoscopic approach, the hairline typically rises slightly. The pretrichial lift is used for patients with a high forehead, as it can lower or maintain the hairline. How long is the recovery?
Swelling and temporary scalp numbness are common for 2–3 weeks. Most patients are comfortable in social settings within 10–14 days. Are results permanent?
Results are long-lasting but not permanent, as the face continues to age. Most patients enjoy the outcome for 7–10 years. Can a brow lift be combined with other procedures?
Yes — brow lift is frequently combined with blepharoplasty, facelift, or temporal lift for comprehensive rejuvenation. Will the brows look unnatural or surprised?
When performed by an experienced surgeon with a precise plan, results look entirely natural. Overcorrection is avoided by careful planning and conservative elevation. How do I prepare?
Avoid blood-thinning medications prior to surgery. Full preparation instructions are provided after consultation. Is this suitable for men?
Yes. Brow lift in men requires careful attention to the masculine brow position — which should remain at or just above the orbital rim, not arched. How do I get started?

DOCTOR'S NOTE The upper face — the forehead, brows, and eyes — communicates more than any other region. A descended brow signals fatigue, worry, or even anger, regardless of how the person actually feels. Correcting this with a brow lift has a disproportionately large effect on how a patient is perceived and how they feel about their own appearance. I use a great deal of care in planning brow lifts — particularly in choosing the right technique for each patient's hairline height and brow anatomy. I am equally careful to avoid over-elevation: a surprised expression is as undesirable as a heavy one. The goal is always to restore what time has taken, in the most natural way possible.
